Il lavoro consiste nel distendere la durata del film Via col vento in un arco di tempo “infinito” (cinquemiliardi di anni), allungando ogni singolo fotogramma fino a che quasi si perda la relazione col successivo e allo stesso tempo la loro differenza.
Affinchè questa “infinita” successione abbia un senso, affinchè sia possibile una relazione tra fotogramma (parte/visibile) e film (unità/concepibile), è stato necessario trovare un contenitore che abbia in sé una continuità temporale libera dalle limitazioni della realtà fisica.Abbiamo riconosciuto nello spazio web l’unico contesto capace di esprimere in maniera concreta il senso del lavoro, e nel tempo di internet l’unica continuità oggi probabilmente infinita.
Così infine nella scelta del soggetto rappresentato si vuole creare una suggestione ciclica che anche oltre l’ultimo istante di un tempo “infinito” presupponga l’inizio di un altro ciclo, …domani e’ un altro giorno.
The work consists in the lengthening of the duration of the movie Gone with the wind to an infinite period of time (five billion years), extending each individual frame almost until all relation with the following one is lost, as is the difference between the two.
So that this “infinite” sequence makes sense, so that the relation between the single frames (visible/part) and film (conceivable/unit) is possible, a container that presents intricately a temporal continuity, free from the imitations of physical reality, was necessary. We found cyber space to be the only context capable of expressing in a concrete manner a sense of effort, and time as expressed in internet to be the only continuity today close to infinity.
Therefore, in the choice of the subject a suggestive cycle is created, which, beyond the last instant of “infinite” time, supposes the beginning of another cycle, …tomorrow is another day.
